Premio Iberoamericano Planeta-Casa de América de Narrativa is a Latin American Spanish language literary award.〔(Planeta-Casa de América de Narrativa ), official website〕 The winner receives USD $200,000 making it one of the richest literary prizes in the world.〔 Beyond the large endowment, the award is also notable for the large number of books which are judged; in 2010 over 600 books entered the award, far surpassing the approximately 120 books which entered the Man Booker Prize, for example.〔(Prize: Premio Iberoamericano Planeta-Casa de América de Narrativa ) at ''complete review'' Literary Saloon, March 17, 2011.〕〔 The first award was in 2007.
